The Card Room
Crab Fragment Card Games
The Card Room is a collection of games with cards, most of which you can print yourself, or order from our friends at DriveThruCards. All of our card games are quick and easy, and some of our decks can play several different games.
James Ernest is a prolific card game inventor, creating new generic decks like Pairs and Vines, as well as unique card games like Give Me the Brain and Letter Boxing. Many of his older card games from Cheapass Games can be found in the Game Preserve at Cheapassic Park.
Check out all of the lovely card games below, and be sure to visit our other game pages: The Board Room, The Pub, and our newset page The Ready Room, games that need no specialized parts.
Most of our card games (and some board games as well) are available from DriveThruCards. For your convenience we have built a page with links to all of our DriveThru products. Check it out!
Agents of the Crown
Agents of the Crown is a card game of bluffing and dimplomacy for exactly four players. This version plays with a standard poker deck, but we are homing someday to build custom deck for this game.
In each round, players can play in any turn order, face up or face down, trying to head off those challenges that matter the most to them, and bargaining (sometimes dishonestly) to help each other do the same.
Bread Basket
Bread Basket is a simple sandwich-making card game for 2 to 8 players. Each turn, players may add a card the line in the center of the table, or draw a card from the deck.
Certain strings of cards (sandwiches) are worth points, and the goal is to pick up the most points before someone runs out of cards.

Fairmarket
The Fairmarket deck is a three-suited deck for card games from the Dew Point universe, including Fairmarket, Tresotti, and Scurro.
Fairmarket is a gambling game for 2-6 players. Players pre-select their bids for five market stalls, and win coins for being either the highest or the lowest bid in each. We have rules for a few other games as well.

The Harvest
Set in a time of great upheaval among the crime families of Fight City, The Harvest is a carefully constructed minimalist strategy card game, played with just 36 cards.
Each card has a unique special ability, and values between 1 and 6 on the front and back. The goal is to run your opponent out of money. The method is something between combat and change-making.

The Island Deck
The Island Deck is a simple six-suited deck for several original games including Showboat, Powderkeg, and Down the Well.
This page also includes the Blossom Deck, a six-suited deck with its own set of original games including Bulldog and Cowards.

Letter Boxing
Letter Boxing is a simple word game with deduction and bluffing. Players compete to build a word with limited cards, trying to guess what their opponent can and cannot complete.
The bluffing element, along with a clever set of single- and double-letter cards, truly makes Letter Boxing the “The Heavyweight Champion of the Word.”

Pairs: A New Classic Pub Game
Pairs was an original Cheapass Game first released in 2014. We’re pleased to host all of the games at this info page, with more decks coming soon.
The Pairs deck is a simple deck of number cards with nearly infinite versatility and dozens of gorgeous art decks. The original game is a simple press-your-luck game with only one loser.

Pirate’s Bluff
A lightning-fast bluffing game, Pirate’s Bluff is similar to Liar’s Dice, but played with cards, and without turns.
Once the game starts, players can make a bid at any time, escalating until someone calls their bluff. We have two versions of this deck, so you can shuffle one deck while you play with the other.

Sophisticuffs
Literally a “Battle of Two Seconds,” Sophisticuffs is a simple icebreaker game where two cards fight, one card wins, and the winner keeps the loser’s card. A lightweight diversion to spice up any event.
We now offer several different Sophisticuffs card sets, with a new art set added every year!

Stage Blood
You and your contemporaries are theatrical agents in the age of Shakespeare, sending your clients to work on various plays throughout the land.
This elegant game for 2-6 players is coming along nicely. Stage Blood is a work in progress, but we like where it is so far!

Vines and Postas
Two five-suited decks from the Carrisor universe, Vines and Postas each come with their own suite of original games.
The Vines deck was designed for a suite of more than twenty original trick-taking games, while the Postas deck is made for gambling games including Holdout and Prima Carta, as well as the solitaire game El Lobo.

Whispers
A gambling game from the Vinlant universe, Whispers is a simple press-your-luck game where the object is just to avoid getting a pair.
The deck has eight suits, numbered one through six, and six whispers, which can’t pair with anything. But each whisper in your hand doubles your penalty if you do get a pair.
