A New Pub Game
Whispers is a quick-playing card game for 2 to 8 players, set in the Vinlant universe. It is presented as a New World adaptation of a dice game from the Old World (in reality that dice game does not yet exist). We’re now pleased to offer three versions of the Whispers deck for sale: the original two deck designs from 2023, traditional and illustrated, and a new deck designed for the 2024 variant Papa.
You can make your own Whispers deck from two Poker decks, or from one UNO deck, or even using cards from your copy of Pirate’s Bluff.
The Whispers deck contains 54 cards, including eight copies each of the numbers 1 through 6, plus six “whispers.” If you’re using poker decks, you can use all the cards valued Ace through 6, and six Jacks for the whispers.
The decisions in Whispers are quick and simple, and the action is fast and chaotic. It’s a great game for your favorite group of risk takers! Papa is also a quick-playing game, also played for money, so you can mix both games in the same session. (All of the Whispers games can be played with any Whispers deck.)
The original decks for Whispers include the Traditional / Standard deck, a pips-only design that resembles a modern poker deck, and the Illustrated deck, which has fanciful artwork on every card. The third deck above is designed for Papa, our new 2024 game. It has a more modern pip design with lighter paper and brighter colors, because Papa cares about the colors.

About the Setting: Vinlant is a colonial-era fantasy setting featuring a wizard’s school, intended as a backdrop for multiuple games. It is introduced in the short story Enter the Catacombs, at the Crab Fragment Library.
