Once upon a time, when Cheapass Games was young and foolish, we just might have named one of our products in such a way as to be potentially confusing with another publisher’s intellectual property. Silly us.

Before I Kill You, Mister Spy… is a slightly renamed version of that product, a silly little card game about being an evil super-villain. You’ll capture hapless secret agents in your lair, and spend the game debating the relative values of killing them right away, or taunting them for extra points.

This game has had different titles over the ages, including James Ernest’s Totally Renamed Spy Game, and Before I Kill You, Mister Spy…, from Cheapass Games (2017). Thanks to the settlement with the movie company, we were unable to change the name to “What Part of Doctor No Don’t You Understand?”

Later Editions: The “Totally Renamed Spy Game” had some mechanical issues, having twice as many cards and therefore four of every Taunt card. The latest printed edition of Before I Kill You, Mister Spy… has much-improved rules, and is available from Greater Than Games.
