Pairs - Multiple Designs
In the spring of 2014, James Ernest and Paul Peterson created a card game called Pairs, designed to play anywhere. They labeled it “A New Classic Pub Game.” Their goal was to create a game simple enough that it could become a timeless classic. Something you could find in your friendly local pub.
The deck is simple: just the numbers 1 through 10, with each card duplicated according to its rank: 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, and so on. The original game is about avoiding pairs, and there’s only one loser. Today there are more than fifty original games to play, all with the very same deck. Read more about it here.
Choose from these decks that we still have in our warehouse:
Pairs: Lord of the Fries
In our never-ending quest to make everything into a version of everything else, we created a Pairs deck with art from Lord of the Fries. This deck was part of the 2015 Lord of the Fries Kickstarter campaign, and it features art from several different Friedey’s menus, inducing a few that haven’t yet been released!
The classic Zombie artwork by Brian Snoddy makes this one of the most gorgeous Pairs decks that remain in our basement.
Pairs: Trolls
As a testament to the helpful trolls of our 2014 Pairs campaign, we created a special set of new friends called the Trolls deck. Friends like Chamomile, “You are not actually going to make it that way, are you?” and Silas, “Now that there is a thing, it is not good enough for me.”
The Trolls deck is a gaudy collection of clip-art monsters who are here to let you know how much you need their help.
Other Decks:
Stay tuned for more Pairs decks as we root around in the basement and see what else we can find!
