You’re all managers at a huge company of rats. Your goal is complete projects by assigning your people to them, but the projects take longer the more people you assign. Just like in real life.
The Big Cheese is a simple bidding game where you bid with time as a resource. The more you pay (in workers) to secure a project, the more time it takes to finish. And at the end it’s still a die roll to see if it was worth any points! , Jon Wilkie
The Big Cheese was designed in a collaborative “design a game in an hour” panel at Norwescon 1998, and it went to press with basically the same rules that were developed in that hour.
The rats in The Big Cheese were drawn by our very own Ms. Cheapass Games, Carol Monahan. And there was once a Japanese edition that came in a metal tin, with cute little rat meeples!
