Candy: The ever-sweet fluffy stuff of dreams. Doctor Sweet’s Carnival of Chocolate Horrors is a strange attraction in the center of your quaint European village, and the magical confection queen is offering an infinite supply of candy to the youngster who can best her diabolical games.

Doctor Sweet’s Carnival of Chocolate Horrors is a new board game from James Ernest and Crab Fragment Labs, and it is likely to be our first crowdfunded game, sometime in 2025. This page has some preview information, though not a playable version (yet).

We’ve been tinkering with this idea for more than five years, but we didn’t have a playable game until this summer, testing preliminary versions at Origins and Gen Con with some of the finest minds in gaming. Now the game is a hair’s breadth away from release in a public beta version.

Players roll dice to run around the village collecting candy, and spending it to play Doctor Sweet’s diabolical carnival games. If you lose at any game, you die. But that’s okay, because you always come back stronger and better. Doctor Sweet is a fun twist on some familiar themes, and we hope you’ll enjoy playing it with us.
