Whispers Has Arrived!

Crab Fragment Labs is pleased to introduce two print-on-demand versions of our new card game, Whispers. It’s a fast-paced gambling game with a simple deck: eight suits numbered 1 through 6, plus six whisper cards.

The goal is simple: don’t catch a pair. The higher your pair, the higher your penalty. Whispers are blank, and can’t pair anything, but each whisper doubles the price for pairing something else. The biggest wrinkle is that if everyone is knocked out on the same round, the player who paid the highest penalty takes the pot.

You can choose from two versions of the Whispers deck: the Traditional version with just the basic suits, and the Illustrated version with art on every card. You can find rules and links at the Whispers Page.

News From the Lab

New Game: Bread Basket. We’ve just posted a new card game called Bread Basket, based on the Pairs game called Lunch Rush. The new version has a different deck and different rules, but the same basic flow. You can check out the alpha right now, and help us make it better.

Linos: Hermit Crab Greg Whitehead just posted fresh updates to his AI Linos player. It’s still quite rough, but a great way to test your mettle against a smart-as-heck opponent. Links on the Linos Page.

Light Speed Arena Coming Soon: Tablescope Games will soon be launching a Kickstarter campaign for their Light Speed Arena tabletop shooter app. It’s a phone app that takes a snapshot of your Light Speed game, and shows you how the action plays out! Light Speed was a well-loved Cheapass Game, so please visit Tablescope and follow the project!

Shipwrights on TTS: We’ve added the nearly-finished version of Shipwrights of Marino to Tabletop Simulator, along with the many other games we have added over the year. If you like gaming with friends online, we have more games than ever for you.

Happy Birthday James

James Ernest has just returned from his birthday celebration, a weekend of gaming and socializing that happens in Hawaii every five years.

The westernmost minds in gaming were on hand, helping make Bread Basket ten times better. They enjoyed splended views from 36 floors above Waikiki Beach, toured the Honolulu Zoo, ate some pizza, and witnessed a rainbow.
